Bantam B Hericanes advance to the OWHA Provincial Championship Weekend!!
Both League and Playdown play offs are completed for the Hericanes and the girls played extremely well in both!

In League Play offs, the Hericanes were able to make it to the final series against Chatsworth but just fell a little short.  The Hericanes lost game 1 - 3-1 and then tied the next 2 games 0-0 and that was enough for Chatsworth to advance to the Lower Lakes Championship weekend.    Congrats to Chatsworth on winning the series!

In Playdowns, the Hericanes played in a series with 5 teams, each team would play each other  in a home and home series   (Each team to play 8 games).  The top 2 teams would advance to Provincials after all the games are complete.   2 Points for a win and 1 point for a tie.  The 5 teams were Ayr, Twin Centre, Kitchener, Wilmot and Woolwich.   With Play offs, you never know what can happen.  After the Hericanes played their 8th game, Kitchener had already advanced to Provincials with 5 Wins, 1 loss and 2 ties (12 points).  The Hericanes had 4 wins, 1 loss and 3 ties for a total of 11 points, sitting in 2nd place, just ahead of Ayr.   Ayr had a record of 3 wins, 1 loss and 3 ties (p points) and had 1 game left against Wilmot.  If Ayr would win, and win by 8 goals, (the tie breaker was goals fore and against) they would go to Provincials for that last spot and not the Hericanes.  Ayr played hard, and did end up winning the game 5-1, but it was not by enough.    So as a result, the Hericanes were able to advance to OWHA Provincials for the April 5th- 8th  weekend.  Great job girls for advancing, let’s try to bring home the Gold!!
