BINGO NIGHT DETAILS

  • Arrive at 610pm there will be a Lions member there to greet you and give you a run down of the night
  • There are 4 Lions members, plus a caller and 2 volunteers that's YOU!
  • Volunteers must be 18yrs of age
  • Books of Bingo cards start selling at 630pm you will likely be asked to sell at the front door
  • Once the Bingo starts you will be responsible for running and getting the winning card...there is a number in the middle of the Bingo card and all you have to do is call out those numbers on the card, the caller will confirm whether it is a good bingo or not. Often there is more than one winner in the bingo session the Lions members will have the money divided and ready to hand out if that is the case of two winners, you then deliver the money to the winner or winners
  • The busier it is the faster the bingo game is, and then the games and sessions are shorter. A normal night is typical of 65-70 players
  • As the games are going there are plastic bins located at the end of each table, they can get full of used bingo papers you can empty as needed into the larger trash cans in the hall, this helps pass the time with the longer games.
  • At the end of the night around 950pm you will then help clean up. All tables are washed. Tables on the outer walls stay where they are however the centre row of tables are taken down and put away.
  • There is a lottery constantly running pull tabs etc, however we as the volunteers will not be asked to help as the person who runs the lottery have to obtain a lottery licence. Also there is a snack counter and we would only be asked to cover a washroom break if needed in the snack counter.

The Lions appreciate us and are very welcoming. They can answer all your questions. I appreciate any feedback. I can be reached at [email protected] or 519-656-9135. Thank you for volunteering! Have fun with it!

Volunteers are not paid, not because they are worthless but because they are priceless.
