Off to League Finals
The Hericanes  won a tightly contested series against the Woolwich Wild by defeating them 2 games to 1.

Right from the start in game one is was obvious this would be a close series as the Hericanes pulled out some late heroics coming from behind scoring two goals in the last minute to win game 1 by a score of 2-1. With the goalie pulled, Chloe Hislop poked in a loose pick to tie the score at 1-1. Then with 25 seconds left, Mia Thompson retrieved a loose puck and shot high over the goalie's glove to go ahead 2-1 which is how the game would end.

In game two, the Wild came out and pushed back hard winning by a score of 2-0. This evened the series at one game a piece which meant the Hericanes headed back to Wellesley needing to win.

With both teams ready to go, the Hericanes may have had their best period of the year. Their forecheck and defensive play was fantastic which allowed them to take a 1-0 lead. The first goal was all about team play. Claire Schoenherr kept the puck in three times as it came to the blue line. It then went to Kate Rudy who shot the puck at the net where Taylor Storey took a shot after the rebound and Chloe Hislop backhanded the puck past the Wild keeper. Period number two was much the same with a beautiful goal scored by Chloe Hislop on a breakway to take a 2-0 lead. In the third the Wild as they had all series refused to give in and scored on a power play to make the score 2-1. The defense of the Hericanes kept the Wild at bay as Megan Haid, Morgan Schott, Claire Schoenherr and Kate Rudy worked hard and made smart decisions all game long. The forwards were equally as good as they were shorthanded and had only 5 players. Brianne Barker, Halle Murray, Sonya Yusim, Taylor Storey and Chloe Hislop skated hard all game and their backcheck  was fantastic. Finally, as has been the case all year, Erinn Zyta was great in net. She battled and made the saves when needed. It was a real team effort. The Hericanes now await the winner of the Kitchener and Belmont series. Well done girls.
